Your garage should have room for the things you use, not just the things you haven't put away.

Bikes lean against the wall. Camping gear fills the corners. Tools end up in three different places, and the shelves are stacked so deep that getting something from the back means moving everything in front of it.

Oregonized Closets designs and installs custom garage storage systems for homeowners in Bend and throughout Central Oregon. Every system is built around your garage, what you need to store, and how you actually use the space. No standard storage packages. No franchise hand-offs.

A garage can have plenty of square footage and still feel like there's nowhere to put anything. Bins get stacked against the walls. Holiday decorations sit in front of boxes you need more often. Gear takes over the floor, and the space where you planned to park slowly gets smaller. Another freestanding shelf helps for a while, then fills up like the rest.

There isn't one layout that fixes that for everyone. A household with bikes, skis, and camping equipment needs different storage than someone who uses the garage for woodworking. So Grant starts with what you keep in the garage, what you use regularly, and what keeps getting in the way.

Keep the floor clear.

When boxes, tools, and equipment collect on the floor, usable space disappears fast. Cabinets and shelving move them onto the walls.

Make Better Use of the Garage You Already Have

USE EVERY INCH

Use the full height.

Garage walls are tall, and most of that height goes unused. Upper shelving and cabinets put it to work while keeping everyday items within comfortable reach.

Plan around your vehicles.

If you park inside, the storage has to leave room for the cars, their doors, and the people walking around them. Grant measures those clearances before deciding how far anything can extend into the room.

Keep everyday gear accessible.

The bike you ride several times a week shouldn't be buried behind holiday decorations. What you use most goes where you can grab it without moving something else first.

Make room for bulky items.

Coolers, camping bins, and power tools don't fit standard shelf dimensions. We design around what you actually own instead of forcing everything into identical compartments.

Work around the garage itself.

Garage doors and tracks, windows, electrical panels, and outlets all affect where storage can go. Grant designs around them and keeps necessary access clear.

What Your Garage Can Include

A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING

Storage cabinets. Tools, supplies, and household overflow go behind doors instead of spreading across every open surface.

Tall cabinets. Long-handled tools and bulky supplies get a dedicated spot when the layout allows.

Adjustable shelving. Bins, boxes, and equipment come in different sizes. Adjustable shelves change spacing instead of wasting room above smaller items.

Open shelving. Frequently used bins and supplies you want to grab without opening a cabinet.

Built-in drawers. Hand tools, hardware, and small parts get their own places instead of mixing together in bins.

Wall storage. Tools and smaller equipment off the floor and within reach.

Outdoor gear storage. Helmets, packs, ski equipment, and camping supplies, planned around their size and how often they come out.

Workbench storage. Cabinets, drawers, and shelving that keep tools close to your work area without covering the surface you need to work on.

Not every garage needs all of these. A cabinet that blocks a car door isn't useful, and neither is a shelf that makes it hard to reach what's behind it. We figure out what needs to fit and how you use the space before deciding where anything goes.

Garage Storage for the Way You Use the Room

BUILT FOR WHAT YOU DO

Not every garage has the same job. Some are mostly for parking. Others hold outdoor equipment, tools, household supplies, or a little of everything.

Garages you park in. In a two-car garage, storage works around parking positions, door clearance, and walkways. In a single-car garage, cabinet depth and vertical storage matter even more, because every inch along the wall comes out of the floor.

Garage workshops. If you do woodworking, repairs, or home projects, tool storage belongs close to where the work happens.

Household overflow. Holiday decorations, extra supplies, and things that don't belong inside the house get dedicated shelving instead of being stacked wherever they'll fit.

Multi-purpose garages. A garage might need to hold a car, host a project, and store outdoor gear all at once. The layout plans for each job instead of treating the whole room as storage.

The door into the house. If the garage entry is where your family comes and goes, a bench, coat hooks, and shoe storage there can make a big difference. See Mudroom Storage.

Finishing the floor too? See Garage Flooring.

One Person, Start to Finish

YOUR NEIGHBORS, NOT A FRANCHISE

Oregonized Closets is locally owned and independent, not a national franchise. Grant and Chyenne McDonald are Oregon natives raising their family here.

When you call, you work with Grant.

He looks at your garage and asks what's getting in the way. Maybe you can't park where you want because equipment has taken over the floor. Maybe your tools are spread across several cabinets and boxes. Maybe there's plenty of shelving, but what you use most is always behind something else. Then he designs the layout and comes back to install it. The person who understands what needs to fit in your garage is the person building the storage.

Every system is built from wood sourced in Western Oregon and backed by a lifetime warranty. It's not temporary shelving. It's built-in storage that stays with your house through years of projects and changing seasons.

Our Home Office Design Process

SIMPLE FROM START TO FINISH

Getting garage storage designed around your space and how you use it should be straightforward.

Step 1: Start with a conversation

Tell Grant how you use your garage and what's not working: what you store, what you use most, whether you park inside, and what you'd like the space to do better. You don't need to know how many cabinets or shelves you want. That's his job.

Building or remodeling? We can start designing from your house plans before construction is finished.

Step 2: Measure and design

Grant measures the garage, accounting for vehicles, doors, garage door tracks, windows, and electrical panels. You'll see the plan before installation begins.

Step 3: Professional installation

Grant installs the system he designed. Most installs take a single day, depending on the size and complexity of the project.

Step 4: Put your garage to work

Tools have a place. Bins are easy to reach. Gear isn't spread across the floor. Less time moving things around, more time using the garage for what you need it to do.

Living in Central Oregon usually means owning a lot of gear. Skis and snowboards in the winter. Bikes, paddleboards, camping equipment, and hiking packs when the weather warms up. Tools for projects around the house. And for a lot of households, all of it shares space with one or two vehicles.

Some of that gets used every week. Some only comes out for a few months a year. A good layout keeps this season's gear easy to grab and puts the rest up high until its turn comes around.

Whether you're moving into a new home, remodeling your garage, or just tired of stepping around the same piles, Grant designs around what your household actually owns.

Oregonized Closets serves homeowners in Bend, Redmond, Sisters, Sunriver, Prineville, Tumalo, Terrebonne, and surrounding Central Oregon communities.
